Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about pricing, pilots, municipal data and supported technologies.
How much does SmartGovIOT cost?
Pricing depends on the number and nature of sites, metering points, devices, integrations and related services. The initial assessment of the basic need and suitability is free. Detailed analysis, data preparation and implementation are priced according to a scope agreed in advance.
Does a municipality have to introduce the whole system at once?
No. You can start with one building, a group of metering points or a single workflow. A pilot has a specific objective and a limited scope. Further expansion is assessed against the outcome, the municipality’s priorities and its budget.
Who owns the municipality’s data?
Data and files supplied by the municipality remain its data; ownership of the software is a separate matter. Before implementation, we agree the export scope, a readable handover format, permissions, and retention or deletion conditions. Personal-data rights and mandatory retention periods are considered separately.
How long does an initial deployment take?
There is no single timeframe for every project. It depends on data readiness, the number of sites, available integrations and any on-site verification. Following the initial assessment, we prepare a plan with specific steps and dates; the implementation date is confirmed in the agreement.
Do we need to buy new sensors?
Not necessarily. We first assess existing documentation, readings, meters and supported systems. A new device makes sense where data needed to answer a particular question are missing. Compatibility and communication are verified for each proposed source.
Can SmartGovIOT control equipment?
Monitoring and control are different functions. Displaying a measurement or technical status does not by itself enable equipment control. Any remote intervention requires a separate design, permissions, approval and technical verification.
How are existing systems connected?
Depending on the equipment and permissions, we can propose a supported interface, a secure import or a separate register. LoRaWAN is one option for transferring sensor data. Access to authorised energy data, including OKTE/EDC, has its own conditions and verification; it is not automatically included in every solution.
What happens if a sensor stops communicating?
The design specifies how often data are expected and how outdated measurements are identified. The last value must not be presented as a new measurement, or missing data as zero. Notifications and the inspection procedure are agreed according to device capabilities and deployment scope.
Does SmartGovIOT use AI?
AI assistance is in development. It is being prepared for searching, summarising and explaining available information. It is not presented as autonomous municipal management. Important decisions, approvals and active interventions remain under authorised human control.
Can an external service technician sign in to the pilot?
No. The pilot does not support external service accounts or temporary supplier access. An authorised member of the organisation coordinates the external service, receives the report and assigns it to the relevant site or task.
